Our Story

Hi! I’m Sandra, the founder of La Candle Bar & Co (formerly known as S.J Candles), based in Toronto, ON. As a mom of two amazing kids and a proud pet parent to Oso and Luna, I’ve always been passionate about creativity, learning, and crafting meaningful experiences.

Before starting my candle business, I worked as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) for over 10 years, which deepened my love for teaching and hands-on learning. That same passion now fuels my approach to candle-making—whether it's crafting high-quality candles or helping others bring their own candle vision to life.

Why I Started La Candle Bar & Co

During the pandemic, I discovered that many store-bought candles contained hidden toxins. As a mom and pet owner, I wanted something safer for my family. After more than a year of research and testing, I finally created a clean-burning, high-quality candle that I could trust and love.

At La Candle Bar & Co, we handcraft premium coconut soy wax candles in both small and large batches, ensuring top quality and freshness. Our candles are made with:
